For Poorly PCs and Unsure Users

Kent PC Help assists households and homeworkers with all PC and Laptop issues and projects.

tortoisePerformance

Your computer used to whizz along, swapping between email, web, games, etc. Now it takes an age to start up, and multi-tasking is a forlorn hope. Sound familiar? Facing this situation, some people just give up and buy a new computer. But even these days, where netbooks can be had for under £300, that’s not a cheap option. In order to determine what is the best course of action, I can carry out a free assessment of your PC/Laptop, taking your requirements into account, and give you a fixed-price solution. For those computers that are not lost causes, one or more of the following services can bring it back to life:

  • PC service – a general tidy-up including virus and spyware removal
  • Firewall and security configuration – to help you keep your computer clean
  • Hardware upgrades – to regain performance and/or future-proof your PC
  • Operating System upgrade – Windows Vista is a renowned resource hog, and switching to Windows 7 could give your PC a new lease of life
  • Operating Systems replacement – sometimes the only viable option is to replace the existing OS with one that requires less memory and processor speed. Installing a version of Linux such as Ubuntu can bring an old PC back to life. It’s a great way to re-provision an older PC for homework purposes, for instance.
